Kinesiology is a complementary health science that uses gentle muscle monitoring in order to access information about your body through biofeedback. By monitoring your muscles and applying gentle pressure in combination with acupressure protocols a kinesiologist is able to ascertain where in your body you are holding stress.

Using acupressure, gentle structural alignment, sound therapy, chakra balancing and other techniques a kinesiologist is able to help you release the stress so your energy systems can return to a state of balance. A kinesiologist’s role is to facilitate bringing your body into balance so its natural ability to return to a state of health is maximised.

Kinesiology muscle testing accesses the body’s bio-computer (the brain) through a mouse (the muscle). By clicking the mouse (testing a muscle) in different menus (acupressure meridians and points) we can get information as to where and what type of stress is involved. This includes structural stress like unhappy muscles, emotional stress like being frustrated by your sore back or being upset by your boss, or energetic stress like blockages in an acupressure meridian or chakra.Having found out the different types of stress or blockages involved and where the body is holding it a kinesiologist then asks your body what methods, or balancing techniques, are best suited to balance the stress and allow your body to return to homeostasis. Again this is done through accessing the body’s bio-computer, or brain, through the muscles.

Janie gained her Diploma in Aromatherapy/Massage in Western Australia in 1998, which she followed by her Reiki training a few years later. She works with a variety of massage modalities, including Holistic Massage, Acupressure, Indian Head Massage, and Hot Stone Therapy. Energy and vibrational work is often incorporated via Reiki, Aromatherapy and Bush-Flower Essences to enhance positive outcomes. Janie has worked with a wide variety of clients from all walks of life, including the aged, children, people with physical/intellectual disablities, dancers, truck drivers, athletes, professionals, students, cancer patients and even pets. This gentle, hands-on healing system may relieve pain, stress, improve recovery from illness/ injury/ trauma, and accelerate the recipients ability to heal on all levels. During a Reiki session, the client remains clothed while the practitioner places hands on specific touch points on or around the body, to channel Universal Energy to those areas needed. This wonderful energy work does not contraindicate any other treatments or medications the client may be receiving. Janie also runs regular Reiki Workshops in the South Island. Her Reiki students meet regularly for sharing and development of practise. Janie also combines Essential Oils and Bush-Flower Essences in her treatments if needed, which provide an added vibrational or sensual dimension to other bodywork. Lynne and Mark are Remedial Therapists & Bowen Therapy instructors. They have been practicing for 15 years, and now work at Proactive Physio in Queenstown. Their main focus is Bowen Therapy, which they also teach, holding classes regularly on the South Island.
